Nicole Imeson

Nicole Imeson, P.L.(Eng.)

Principal

Nicole started her career in 2008 as a contract administrator before co-founding Vertica Engineering. As a mechanical engineer she has a deep understanding of mechanical system construction and has worked in multiple industry sectors on hundreds of projects throughout her career.

 

Nicole’s valuable hands-on experience, strong organizational skills, and team approach to projects strengthens our project delivery and ensures our clients receive the best possible engineered solutions. 


In her spare time, Nicole hosts a podcast about engineering failures called Failurology. She is also President for the Western Canada chapter of the Building Commissioning Association (BCxA)


Nicole is a freelance writer and international speaker on a variety of engineering topics. She enjoys giving back to the industry and paving the way for engineers of the future.

Sameer Patel, P.Eng.

Principal

Sameer started his career in mechanical building system design in 2011. In 2016 he worked in the ship building industry before realizing his passion for system design remained on land. His experience across different sectors has given him a unique background and insightful knowledge of mechanical systems, project management, and project execution. 

In his downtime, Sameer enjoys spending time with his family and watching and playing sports. He likes to remain active by playing basketball, volleyball, golf, and snowboarding in the winter. 

Sameer is an active member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), and The American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). His knowledge of construction and engineering expertise allow him to troubleshoot any problem to find practical solutions. 

He is also the current acting Head of Engineering for Biofuel Evolution, which is a UK based company working to create sustainable energy from food waste.

Jay Stobbe

Jay Stobbe, P.Eng.

Principal

Jay has been involved in various capacities of mechanical design and construction since 2008 and has strong and practical design and collaboration skills. He is the co-founder of Vertica and a senior mechanical engineer with extensive experience in the building and construction industry and has worked on numerous projects of all sizes and complexities in Canada and the USA.

He is a outdoors enthusiast and enjoys spending his spare time camping, hiking, running and cycling. Living close to the mountains, Jay tries to enjoy as much time as possible in the Rockies as he can.

Jay is an active member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC), Engineers and Geoscientists Manitoba (APEGM) and The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). He adheres to the highest industry standards, and pushes for the best and most practical solution to any problem.

Graham Legaspi

Director of Production (BIM)

Since entering the mechanical engineering arena in 2011, Graham has been dedicated to design software innovation. As Director of Production (BIM), he is committed to expanding technological boundaries and fostering a collaborative work environment.


Graham’s expertise lies at the intersection of technology and design to orchestrate seamless workflows, optimize efficiency, and ensure high quality deliverables. Proficient in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, and BIM coordination software, Graham empowers our team to transform intricate designs into fully coordinated drawing packages for construction.


In his free time, Graham enjoys driving his classic 1986 Toyota, playing beach volleyball, and recently learning how to play golf.
